A well known Not-For-Profit organisation is looking to recruit an Assistant Corporate Secretary to assist the team in the promotion of high standards of governance within the group, as part of the Chief Executive’s directorate. If you’re energetic, have strong attention to detail and are consistently keen to learn, then this role could be right for you. This is a chance to work in an influential and unique institutional body with the ability to deliver actual change within the industry.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Corporate Secretary in providing advice to all levels of stakeholders about their duties and responsibilities; advising on best practice; developing and promulgating governance practices and their implementation; and ensuring proper and efficient communications across the organisation with regard to those practices.
  • Facilitating the smooth operation of the organisation’s public (e.g. AGM) and other meetings.
  • The organisation of meetings; collation of documents; preparation of agenda and papers; issuing packs prior to meetings; attendance at meetings; taking minutes; and following-up on actions arising.
  • Managing, prioritising and scheduling meetings and deadlines for associated papers.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders’ expectations with regards to delivery, and escalating and bringing critical information and concerns to attention of the Corporate Secretary.

Experience and qualifications

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Studying for, or is interested in studying for the ICSA qualification.
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders and managing their expectations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills (tact, honesty, integrity, discretion, diplomacy, confidentiality, patience and ability to get on well with all levels of stakeholders).
