We’ve been instructed by a well-renowned real estate business who are urgently looking for a Deputy Company Secretary to cover maternity leave over a period of 12 months, based in their offices in London on a hybrid basis. This is a senior role leading on administration of the Board and Committees and as an integrated part of the team, this role is key in ensuring governance is followed and evolves within the business. The role requires you to have significant commercial experience and a strong ability to support senior leadership on advising on best governance practice to people such as the Chair and Chief Executive. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for high-quality administration of the Board and Committee process.
  • Review Terms of Reference
  • Manage junior members of the team
  • Along with the Company Secretary, ensure that the highest standards of Corporate Governance are promoted within the organisation
  • Horizon scanning including preparing and implementing action plans to ensure compliance
  • Lead in the preparation and creation of the annual report and accounts

Experience and qualifications

  • Experience using Diligent in preparation for Board and Committees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional UK Corporate Governance Code knowledge
  • Strong management experience
